- Talk to people in the jobs that you can promote to.
Find out what they did to succeed and what they would do differently. Discuss
the mistakes they made, how they see the job evolving, and what steps you should take to
promote.

Analyze
what they do and how executive management reacts to their success and failures.
Learn from their successes and failures.

with those above you in the chain of command, your peers, and people who
across the organization who either have the knowledge or get things
done.
